What is your background?
I’m a licensed social worker with over a decade of experience in behavioral health, and I truly value the opportunity to support people through some of the most important and challenging moments in their lives. My career began as a Youth Counselor, where I worked closely with residents as an advocate and role model supporting their daily routines, emotional needs, and overall growth both at home and in the community. That early experience shaped my commitment to compassionate, person-centered care. From there, I expanded into providing therapy, case management, and group support, eventually growing into leadership roles where I’ve led programs and supervised teams focused on delivering high-quality behavioral health services. I’ve worked across a variety of settings, including partial care and behavioral health programs, and bring both hands-on clinical experience and a broader leadership perspective to my work. I’m especially passionate about building meaningful connections, helping individuals navigate change, and creating supportive environments.
Why did you become a care manager?
I chose to become a care manager after having the privilege of working alongside professionals in the field whose compassion and dedication truly inspired me. While working in a sub-acute rehabilitation setting, I was introduced to care management and immediately felt drawn to the meaningful connections it fosters. That experience stayed with me and made me realize I wanted to do more. I felt a strong pull to advocate for individuals and to support them in a more personal, hands-on way, helping them navigate challenges and ensuring they feel seen, heard, and cared for.
What is your favorite thing about working as a care manager?
My favorite part of working as a care manager is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a genuine difference in people’s lives. I value being able to support individuals through challenging times, advocate for their needs, and help them navigate complex systems with confidence. It’s incredibly rewarding to see progress, whether it’s a small step or a major milestone, and to know that I played a part in helping someone feel supported, empowered, and cared for.
What is the most common problem your clients face?
One of the most common challenges my clients face is navigating complex life changes while also managing their emotional needs. Many individuals feel overwhelmed by systems that can be difficult to understand, whether related to healthcare, housing, or accessing community resources. At the same time, they may be coping with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or major transitions that impact their daily lives and overall well-being. Often, clients simply need consistent support, advocacy, and someone who will listen without judgment while helping them feel empowered and connected to the resources and care they need.
